Can you check 44-6205? This B-17 never left the USA according Roger Freeman's book.

As for Capt. Loyd B. Slimp: tribute on findagrave tells of 10 Jan 1945. See https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/.../loyd-b.-slimp

This date 44-8205 more likely.
