Norway 1940
My brother was a Hurricane Pilot in 46 Squadron and having flown off the deck of Carrier HMS Glorious in May was in action in Norway until June 7th
As well as 46 Squadron, 263 Squadron were in action When HMS Glorious was sunk by Sharnhorst on June 8th there were 8 Pilots from 46 Squadron and 10 from 263 lost plus a number of support members in the RAF or seconded to the Fleet Air Arm The Three Ships Association [ GLARAC ] HMS Glorious and Destroyers HMS Acasta and HMS Ardent was formed to remember those lost and we are trying to include any relatives of 46 and 263 Squadrons I would be interested if anyone with knowledge of the RAF and Luftwaffe actions in Northern Norway in 1940 could add to our own information I do have some photographs taken when 46 was based at Bardufass Mark Andrew |
