Dakota accident 13th February '44
Hello,
On the 13th February '44 an RAF Dakota III serial FL505 swung on take off at Comilla( in what is now Bangladesh). FL505 collided with several USAAF C-47's that were parked close to the runway. Three C-47's were damaged. Two RAF and one RAAF airmen( crew of FL505) and two US personnel were killed. The Americans were either in the vicinity, aboard or working on the US C-47's when killed. The US a/c were 42-100699, 42-100706 ( both condemned 15/02/44) and 42-100701( continued in service). Can anyone provide the names of the two American fatalities ? Thanks Alex |
