The F.78 for N3245 shows it as 'F.A. O. (2) 15.8.40' on page 2. The 49 M.U. ORB (AIR 29/1008) records early on the 18th being notified of N3245 at Manston (for recovery). The F.78 on page 1 notes it was Taken On Charge by No.1 Civilian Repair Unit (4 M.U.) on August 24th, but it was back on charge with 266 Squadron on August 29th.

Thank you for this information Martin, which confirms my own thoughts re. N3245. Do you have a digital source for the F.78 records? I am familiar with the abbreviated versions in Morgan and Shacklady's Spitfire tome, and the digital version of the abbreviated entries at
