Spitfire PT498, 73 Sqn, Perusic - Croatia
Near Perusic, Croatia, we have found crash site and few pieces from 73 Sqn Spitfire PT498 who crashed on 16.4.1945. Pilot J. Baker was saved by Partisans. In book from Don Minterne „73 Squadron RAF – part 3“ on page 82 is photo of Spitfire PT498, „O“. But in „ A history of Mediterranean air war vol. 5“ I found that letter on fuselage was „V“. Reading ROE and SOE document about 73 Sqn from National Archives is not possible to find anything about letters on Spitfires from 73 Sqn. Does anyone from You know where to search for some other documents about 73 Sqn where I could find what letter was on fuselage of PT498 ?
Thanks Radovan ![]() ![]() ![]() |
