vmf-214
"8 pilots had flown with Greg (Boyington) in VMF-122: Stan Bailey, Hank Bourgeois, Robert Ewing, 1Lt Paul A "Moon" Mullen (1.5 kills with VMF-122, 112), John Begert, Sandy Sims, Bill Case (all with one victory?), and Virgil Ray. All but Lt. Ray had already downed at least one Japanese plane."
Can a forumite supply the details of their previous units and claims. Mullen went on to claim seven kills (one shared) and appears in the late, and very great Frank Olynyk "Stars and Bars" but most of the others are less well known. K |
