Hi Rolf. There are a few details in the MACR (11609) for Wright ; it was an armed recce. / railroad from Dole-Tavaux to the Hubertshofen area . He was flying P-47D 42-26566 "Hells Belles" which was ex-353FG / Eighth AF.
Study 85, the official credits for victories gives the 324FG 4 for the 22nd. for 316FS... 1/Lt W G Allen (316) 1 1/Lt R T Dewey (316) 1 2/Lt F E Pardue (316) 1 1/Lt W R Richmond (316) 0.5 1/Lt C B Slack (316) 0.5 It seems he was shot down by IV./JG53.
