Another beloved member of the 100th Bomb Group has left the formation - Dr. John A. Clark. Clark served as a co-pilot in the 418th Bomb Squadron and flew 32 missions with the group during 1944-1945. He continued his service in the Michigan Air National Guard during 1946-1948. Clark’s wife Marie Mountain Clark served as a WASP pilot during WWII and both regularly spoke about their wartime service to civic groups and historical organizations. Clark’s book, “An Eighth Air Force Combat Diary” provides a detailed account of his military service. Clark and his family were frequent attendees at 100th Bomb Group reunions and he was a tremendous supporter of the group. We extended our sincere condolences to the Clark family.
