Ju 86G production
Friends,
could you please advise me on how it was with the production of the Junkers Ju 86G? Manfred Griehl states that 40 aircraft were produced by ATG between June 1938 and June 1939, when production was completely halted. However, according to the Werknummer lists, more G-1 versions must have been built. From ATG alone, Wnr. 5100–5158 are listed, and another block, Wnr. 0400–0472 from the home company Junkers Dessau, contains alternating Ju 86E and Ju 86G aircraft. Please, does anyone know how it actually was? Is it possible that some Ju 86G aircraft were converted from already rebuilt Junkers Ju 86E airframes? Thank you, Jan |
