do you have Camouflage and Markings Number 12 by Ducimus books ?
it has two photos of AH 577 in flight prior to being coded UF M it is dated August 21, 1941 and was flown by E.J. Gracie "for a time" the words in quotation marks are the exact words of the author R.C. Jones at this time it is painted in Medium Sea Grey , Dark Green and Mixed Grey in the standard Day Fighter Finish pattern "A" the MSG undersurfaces were not overpainted with Sky (18" wide band) the yellow leading edge stripes were not added until October 30, 1941. the second photo on page 281 shows the 12-stack exhausts. |
