379th BG POWs or Evaders ?
Hallo all,
B-17 42-39782 was lost on 8 February 1944. There is some confusion in various published sources and the internet about the status of two of the crew; S/Sgts Charles E. Atkinson and George F. Bennett. I know the NARA POW website does not list them. Can anyone please say for definite whether they were POWs or Evaders ? Many thanks, Martin Gleeson. |
