Re: Identify a He 111
Hello Parabellum,
The He 111 crashed at Saint Herblon (a very small village in 1940 or 1941), located 45 km N.E. of Nantes and - as the crow flies - at 15 km S.S.E. of Saint Mars la Jaille. But does it mean a He 111 crashed, too, in St. Mars la Jaille-Riaillé's area ? or is it the same aircraft ... wrongly located on German reports ? what is your information about the "St. Mars la Jaille-Riaillé's aircraft" ? There is no other mark on the other pic (a very dark photo) which shows the nose of the aircraft, covered with a sort of transport cover. As you, I think the aircraft was pushed against the hedgerow after its crash. Thanks for your help Pierre |
