Question Hellcat lost in 1944-Pilot's fate?

On 30 September 1944 a Hellcat F6F-3 (Bu No#41782} lost 125 miles SE of Nantucket Island Massachusetts. {Allegedly part of CV-6}.
What was Pilot's name/fate?
