609 Squadron - Mitchell - 11 July 1940 Spitfire lettering

Hi

I'm putting together an article concerning 609 Squadron pilot Gordon Mitchell, shot down on 11 July 1940. The Spitfire he was flying was L1095 but I am having a lot of trouble finding any details about the lettering - PR - ? . There is nothing in the ORBs or combat reports. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Steve Darlow
