Happy New Year Everyone,

I have just finished reading the above noted book by "Hank" Adlam , it's very interesting, however it raises a couple of questions!
The author tells that on 890 Squadron's trip across the Atlantic in HMS Battler in Nov 1942 the C/O Jimmy Sleigh shot down a Fw.200 ( also that Sub.Lt.Basil Bartlett was shot down and killed in this combat) - can anyone confirm this ?
In the summer of 1943 the author states that while on HMS Illustrious the squadron shot down 2 Bv.138's ( 1 by Sub.Lt.Jack Parli ) - once again can anyone give any further details ?
