SEARCHING FOR LUFTWAFFE PILOT/PLANE
I am researching an article about the loss of 300 Squadron (RAF), Lancaster bomber, BH-U (serial # LM178) on night of 24 July 44. The Lancaster came down north of St Laurent des Bois, about 5 km northeast of the small town of Marchenoir, France. Discussion with one of the aircrew indicates that the night-fighter that shot them down came from an airfield called Moysey (this is phonetic spelling, I am sure that it's correct spelling is different than how I have spelled it).
How would I find out which Luftwaffe squadron the night-fighter came from and would it be possible to find out the name of the pilot who flew the night-fighter? Thank you very much for your assistance. |
