Sgt G A Jones - gunner with 49 Squadron
Good night to all.
I am looking to positively identify the complete NAME of Sergeant G A JONES, a gunner with 49 Squadron who was shot down on the night of 29/30 March 1944 on Lancaster Mk III, serial number ED469, codes EA-A flown by F/O G F Mabee ( RCAF ). I CAN NOT find his FULL name neither his RAF service number. Any information on this field would be welcomed. He survived the crash of his bomber and was heavily wounded. Accepted on a German Lazarett, IT SEEMS he was repatriated to UK. Could someone confirm this information? Thanks a lot in advance on any information related to the above airman. Yours Adriano
