KG1 He111 H-3 (3245:V4+EH) loss 15th September 1940
Hello,
In Francis Mason's publication, 'Battle over Britain', there is mentioned a loss of a He111 H-3 on 15th September 1940 that belonged to 1/KG1. The aircraft 'crashed at Le Houdrel after combat with fighters'. Apparently three crew members were wounded in this action. Would anyone be able to shed any light on the names of the crew of this aircraft and any other information regarding this mission, eg times, opponents etc? The reason that I ask, is that I have recently seen an award document for sale. It is for a wound badge in black for an action on 15th September 1940. This is the only KG1 lose I can find for the day after searching the other well known publications regarding losses. The crew member's name is Eugen Einsiedel.
