2 Junkers 290 shot down 16th Feb 1944
Hi
This is my first time on this forum as i have drawn a blank with some research into an incident in WW11 on 16th Feb 1944 and am hoping that some of your members can help. On this date Wildcats from HMS Biter on convoy duty in the Atlantic shot down a Junkers 290 just after 10am and then in the afternoon another JU290 was shot down this time by a Beafighter directed by HMS Biter. I am really keen to know the exact identity of the two JU290's that were shot down, where they were based, the crews and whether any crew from either plane survived. Any info or pointers would be appreciated. Cheers Chris
