Nightfighter-Kommandeur Maj. von Meien died
Last week, on 24.11.2008, one of the last living german Luftwaffe-Gruppenkommandeur passed away, Major Ulrich von Meien, aged 95 years.
He commanded the nightfighter-unit 2./NJG 100 in 1943/44 on the eastern front, since July 1944 he was Kommandeur of II./NJG 100 and then since October 1944 Kommandeur of III./NJG 5 until 6.2.1945. He was credited with 9 victories. R.I.P.
