Göring's nephew bombed Cologne?
A friend from US sent me the following question:
..."I don't know if this story is true. According to Jerry Griggs, and published in the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) magazine for the month of February 2009, German Goering's nephew Werner Goering, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, was assigned to the 303rd. Bombardment Group of the 8th. Air Force in England during the war. His only reluctance occurred when he had to bomb Cologne, where his grandmother lived. Can anyone way to find out if this story is true, or a joke Mr. Griggs play on the aviation magazine"... I hope you can help. Horst
