"Rampage of the Roarin' 20's," the WW II History of the 312th Bomb Group, has gone to the printer

Hello,

Last night we here at "International Historical Research Associates" electronically uploaded our latest project in the "Eagles over the Pacific" book series (Vol III) to the printer's server. This is a history of the 312th B.G. titled the "Rampage of the Roarin' 20's" This was primarily an A-20 unit, that served with 5th Air Force from late-1943 to the end of the war. The unit initially flew P-40s in the ground support role, then converted to the A-20G in early 1944, and flew that aircraft to the end of the war. They saw combat in New Guinea, the Netherlands East Indies, the Philippines, Formosa and the Ryukyu Islands. A short time before the war ended, the unit began converting to the B-32 very heavy bomber, and was the only USAAF unit to fly this aircraft in combat. In fact, they flew the very last combat missions over Japan involving interception by hostile aircraft during WW II in the B-32.

The book specs are 416 - 8 1/2" x 11" pages on enamel-coated paper, 710 photos , a 24-page color section, which includes 36 of the best color aircraft profiles ever created, a page of unit patches, 4 stunning color "squadron" paintings by Jack Fellows and a number of color photos of aircraft and nose art. The book also includes 12 maps, showing the location where every mission was flown, and a cut-away schematic of the A-20. Massive appendices detail EVERY aircraft that served in combat with the unit, including service history, nicknames, nose artwork and crews, all casualties, leadership, markings and insignia history, and the extensive histories of each of the 36 aircraft presented in the profiles. We have photos in the book of just about every combat aircraft that served with the unit during WW II. The book will be available for shipping in about 6 weeks. Retail price is US $75.00, plus $6.00 shipping inside the U.S.A. Overseas shipping is more. For orders or information see our website: <www.airwar-worldwar2.com>

Now going through final editing is the @ 650-page 38th Bomb Group history (low-level B-25 strafers), "Saga of the Sun Setters," which should be out late this spring, to be followed shortly thereafter by "Ken's Men Against the Empire," the history of the 43rd Bomb Group (B-17s and B-24s). This project is also in final layout and editing. Following that will be a two-volume history of the 3rd Bomb Group entitled "Harvest of the Grim Reapers (A-24s, B-25s, A-20s and A-26s)." These are all units that served with 5th Air Force in the Southwest Pacific. We hope to have at least the first volume of the 3rd B.G. history out by late this year. Work also advances on our "Eagles Over Europe" book series (see the Luftwaffe Board for an update on that)
