Flt/Sgt. H. A. S. Filmer No 228 Squadron
Help!
I have been contacted by a relation of a 'James' Filmer of Canterbury, Kent, who was posted missing during the World War Two. All I know is he came from Sturry Road, Canterbury, and was lost an air gunner? The only Filmer I can see in the CWGC site that may be a match is Flight Sergeant Harold Albert Sydney Filmer (Service No. 1811558) of No. 228 Squadron who was posted missing on 11th June 1944 and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. No. 228 Squadron were flying Sunderlands from Pembroke Docks during this time but does anyone have any details on the loss of Flt/Sgt. Filmer and presumably the rest of the crew? Any help would be gratefully appreciated? Thanks Dave |
