Georg-Peter Eder
I was wondering how many jet kills did Eder have actually confirmed during the war. Some sources say 12, others 14 and some say as high as 24? But I was curious as to how many were confirmed by the time of his accident on the 22 of January 1945. It is rather confusing because he had about 54 kills by the time he transferred to EKdo 262 in Sept. 1944. Yet, on 25 Nov. 1944 he was awarded the Oakleaves for 60 kills. That's only six jet victories by this time. Overall his score doesn't seem to add up. He's credited with 78 victories, 68 in the West, but if he transferred to Ekdo 262 with 54 kills, this means he must have had at least 24 jet kills confirmed. But this doesn't sound right. Maybe he claimed that many, but I'd like to know if anyone knows how many he actually had confirmed by Jan. 1945, because if its lower than 24 than is score of 78 would be lower. (I'm interested in the claims that were confirmed during the war, I'm not looking for any post war readjustament at this time.) Sorry for the long post.
