16 July 42 II./KG40 ac damage
On 16 July 42 Lt. Wilhelm Schmitter, flying with II./Kampfgeschwader 40, attacked the Leamington armaments factory and the Do.217 he was piloting was damaged by Flak which resulted in Schmitter receiving the wound badge in black for shell splinter wounds.
My question is does anyone have a Wr Nr. on this Do.217 and is there any evidence of additional crew being wounded, amount/% of ac damage?? The mission took place between 04:45 and 07:32 hours. Regards Jeremy Last edited by Spanferkel; 23rd January 2010 at 22:31.
