At his time JG 2 engaged a RAF fighter sweep (Rodeo No. 10) off Le Havre. JG 2 loss list available on the Net shows no JG 2 AC hit during the battle (or the whole day) while JG 2 claimed 3 Spitfire shot down (and really shot down 2 Spitfires of 401 Sqn)
01.05.42 P/O J.R. Patton: kia 11 Group 401 Sqn. Spitfire Vb: AD134 JG 2 off Le Havre 01.05.42 F/Lt. E.L. Neal: wia 11 Group 401 Sqn. Spitfire Vb: P8750 Me 109s epj S. Portsmouth BL628 was at the time with 401 Sqn.
