Re: Bf109 claims/losses June 1940

Brian,

Only a snippet on 14-6-40 I believe III/JG26 and I/JG54 were involved in dogfights in the Evreaux area. I have Ltn. Hans Angeli of I/JG54 missing in combat in the the Evreaux area and Ltn Sprick 8/JG26 wounded. I guess Peters 'The Battle of France' would answer your questions, or like me are you still saving for a copy,

Regards

Brian Bines

Re: Bf109 claims/losses June 1940

Brian,

I have a copy of Peter Cornwell's excellent book (indeed not cheap at 80€).
2 june: indeed 2 Hurricane losses, altough one from 32 Sq and one from 111 Sq. The first (P2727) was shot down in combat with 109 and 110s over Dunkirk 8.10 am.Sgt D.Flynn pow. The German units involved where 2./JG 2, Stab.-II./JG 2, I./JG 27, II. & III./JG 26, II./ZG 76.
The second (L1564) believed damaged in combat with Priller and Uffz. Haase of 6./JG 51.
14 june: 1 Hurricane damaged in combat with 110s of 9./ZG 26. P/O. N.K. Stansfeld wrecked his undercarriage by hitting a ditch during a forced-landing near Blain north of Nantes, France.
This is what I found. It's just a quick glance. When I'm back home this evening I will have a look at the other dates.
Greetz,

Dirk
