Re: Looking for info on Leo 451 # 48, GC III/7 - May 14, 1940

'Battle of France, Then and Now' has LeO 451 '48' GB I/12, shot down by enemy fighter South of Sedan, crashed between Maisoncelle and Bulson at 12.30. Crew as follows:

S/Lt P Hugot and Adjt L. L Leroy both killed, Adjt Jacquemin and Sgt Lebeaupin both baled out and taken prisoner.

I've underlined the bits that don't match your info exactly. The book has only one other LeO 451 lost that day. Hope this helps.

Simon

Looking for info on Leo 451 # 48, GC III/7 - May 14, 1940

Hi Philippe,

"Ils étaient là " by Jacqueline and Paul Martin mention on page 76 that his plane (Leo 451 nr.48 of GB I/12) was shot down by German fighters between Maisoncelle and Bulson (Ardennes). Sous-lieutenant Hugot and Adjudant-chef Leroy were killed and buried at the military cemetery at Bulson. The 2 other crewmembers bailed out injured (Caporal-chef Jacquemin and Sergent Lebeaupin, who was taken prisoner).
Best regards

Luc

I've always been admiring people who can ascertain who shot down whom when most victors had poor recognition training and losers never returned to explain what happened and fell without any eye-witness.
