7th September 1940 Luftwaffe Losses ?

Hello,
This probably has been delt with before but just in case.

What were the losses suffered by the Luftwaffe on as a result of the raids on GB on September 7th 1940 ?

Quite a lot of RAF Fighter Claims were made one source has 36 destroyed, 18 probably destroyed and 17 damaged.

Also, fate of crews, not very many became PoW it seems ?

Thanks
Alex

Alex:

Have you checked ATB's BoB, or Blitz vol. 1 and others? They are quite detailed.

Re: 7th September 1940 Luftwaffe Losses ?

hello John,
Thanks for your reply.
I have Blitz vols 1,2 & 3 and from what i have 7th Sept is in vol 2, which only has about 4 or 5 Luftwaffe aircraft noted that came down on British soil.
As for ATB's BoB I'm not sure what that is (?).
Thanks again
Alex

Hello John,

Thanks for the info and now I see that at the price It will have to be put on my very long list of Books to get one day.
Perhaps the local Library may be able to get one from out of County.
Tlil then I will just have to wait for the answers.

Re: 7th September 1940 Luftwaffe Losses ?

Are any of the 109 losses suffered on this date attributed to specific RAF pilots/squadrons?
I'm trying to track down the Emil shot down by Ogilvie of 609 squadron.

Re: 7th September 1940 Luftwaffe Losses ?

Ogilvie's claim was too imprecise to match to any German loss
