Re: Pilot Adam Tiahnybok

One more piece of info: on 11 November 1943 he was seriously injured in a car accident (travelling together with a fellow pilot Marian Wedzik). He resumed flying with 308 Sqn in January 1944.
Was you grandfather a Polish airman, too?

Re: Pilot Adam Tiahnybok

Go to Google and search the following: site:_orb.polishaf.pl Tiahnybok (without the _ between site: and orb but this forum is replacing : followed by o by a %%% smiley)

This will give you access to ORB of 302, 308 and 316 Sqn where the above named pilot appears.

It is possible that his name will appear somewhere else on the website that Google has not found, but that is a start... even if the other posts probably give you as much details as the ORB.

Re: Pilot Adam Tiahnybok

Hello VoyTech! Thank you for such a detailed answer. I know it was some time ago. I was a new user on this forum and must have missed the notification about your reply. Anyway, better late than never. May I ask you where have you found all this information? It is very interesting and helpful.
No, my grandfather was not a pilot but he served in the army during the war.

Re: Pilot Adam Tiahnybok

The information comes from various sources, but mostly from wartime documents held at the Sikorski Institute, London or at the National Archives, Kew.
