Dear brewerjerry,
Thank you for that information. I see on http://fishponds.org.uk/luftbri8.html that two aircraft were over Bristol on 25th Nov. 1940. one was at 2-4000 ft. Mine was well below that hight so I think ir was probably an He111.
Why it had a trail of smoke I do not know as it does not appear to have crashed. It could of course have been an RAF plane although we were between a warning and an all clear siren.
