Thank you for your correction. The middle name of Mitchell is what appeared in the London Gazette for his DFC. The RAAF Nominal Role however gives his middle name as Melvill, so that is what I will use. Enjoy! Frank.

Hi Margaret,
In case you weren't aware, Haslope's service file is online at the NAA. It includes his DFC citation, and a small personal photo, in its 47 pages. 'Spitfire, Mustang and Kittyhawk in Australian Service' by Stewart Wilson has more photos, including four frames of gun camera footage from his interception of the Me 163, and a pic of the a/c that he flew on that op.
