Hauptmann Alfred Grislawski, 24 Jan. 1944 - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hauptmann Alfred Grislawski, the Staffelkapitaen of the 1./J.G. 1, was downed over Belgium on 24 January 1944 and seriously wounded. Every Luftwaffe reference I have says that he was downed over Baske, Belgium. The trouble is, there is no town, city or village named Baske in Belgium. Can anyone clarify this for me?

According to me Hptm Grislawski did not came down in Belgium.

I thought it was Aachen, Germany where he came down on 1.24.44.
