It should have helped, with 4./ZG1 I am unlucky with the Kommandeur/Staffelkapitan status, so my Oberleutnant didn't get a look in.

With 6./ZG1, I have a Hauptmann claiming, but an Oberelutnant as Staffelkapitan!

With 1./ZG26 I read the appalling hand writing on the Micro Film as "Sautke", but I guess if I give it another looking it just could be Dunker!

Thanks ago though.

This post still leaves us very much in the dark. Why don't you post the information you have, or you believe is correct, and see if members can sort it out for you?

Re: various Staffelkapitan's of ZG1 & ZG26

Hi guys

Good idee details are:-

10./ZG26 Hptm "Repple" or Reffle" B-24 on 28th September 1944 1245 hrs only 5 metres altitude!
1./ZG26 Oblt "Sautke" or "Santke" 28th May 1944 Burg/Tangerhutte 1420 hrs 7000 metres v.n.e-a.s.m
6./ZG1 Hptm "..ch.ing" R-5 on 19th August 1942 0615 hrs 300 metres
4./ZG1 Oblt "Ziel" R-5 3km north of Ssawinki 1245 hrs 20-30 metres.
on 3rd March 1942
But, I also have a few who's rank is too low to be Staffelkapitan's:-

5./ZG1 Gefr "Abschat"(bordfunker?) Wellington on 19th August 1942 1022 hrs 100 metres.
5./ZG1 Uffz "Hecket" Spitfire on 27th September 1943 1703 hrs 5000 metres v.n.e-a.s.m
4./ZG1 Uffz "Klem" P-38 on 1st May 1943 south-east of Komoron 0953 hrs 7000 metres(this one was once quoted to me as "Klebert", but i'm pretty sur it's not)
4./ZG1 Uffz "M......" or "W......" B-17 on 24th February 1944 1327 hrs 6500 metres.
5./ZG1 Uffz "Maia" B-24 on 29th May 1944 south-west of Vienna 1012 hrs 6500 metres.
3./ZG1 Uffz "Motsch" Il-2 on 21st November 1942 0730 hrs 200 metres.
II./ZG1 Uffz "Rinken" B-24 on 22nd February 1944 Pilsen area 1340 hrs 5000 metres.
5./ZG1 Lt "Saneler" Severskiy on 23rd January 1942 east of Kossorka 1220 hrs tiefflug.
1./ZG1 Fw "Schinne" LaGG-3 on 17th April 1943 0518 hrs 2200 metres v.n.e-a.s.m.
2./ZG1 Lt "Schubel" B-24 on 8th September 1943 1746 hrs 800 metres.
3./ZG1 Fw "Weis...." B-17 on 2nd April 1944 1135 hrs 6000 metres.
1./ZG26 Ofhr "Bauge" or "Bange" B-24 on 29th May 1944 sea, Pommersche Bight 1255 hrs 6000 metres.
6./ZG26 Gefr "Mrolde"(bordfunker?)B-17 on 11th April 1944 east-north-east of Rugen Island 155 hrs 5000 metres.
4./ZG26 Fw "Hiemann" B-17 on 11th April 1944 50km nord-west of Kolberg 1200 hours 4500-5000 metres.
6./ZG26 Uffz "Holzweg" P-51 on 20th June 1944 Demmin area 0935 hrs 6000-7000 metres A.S.M
11./ZG26 Ofw "Wisstruth" or "Misstruth" Beaufighter on 16th November 1943 1240 hrs 200 metres.
11./ZG26 Ofw "Rechel" Beaufighter on 16th November 1943 1245 hrs 5 metres.
4./ZG26 Ofw "Schroeder" P-51 on 20th June 1944 south of Magdeburg 0925 hrs 6000 metres v.n.e-a.s.m.

Obviously officers should not be bordfunkers, but a fighter claimed is quite often a bordfunker, but a bomber claimed almost always a pilot!

On the micro films I found 555 claims for ZG26 and 380 for ZG1, apart from those listed above all others identified, or from a micro film(usually January 1944) where only time and date mentioned.

Grateful for your assistance.

Kind Regards

Johannes
