Definitely a Hurricane. Look at the tubular construction of the fuselage aft of the engine. Hurricanes also had several prop/spinner variants early in the war.

Oh yes. This tubular construction is a good hint. Hurricane sounds good for me too now.

Of course it is a Hurricane.

Metal covered wings?

We might imagine in France, Battle of France lame duck?

..anything conflicting with that?
