According to NVM Max Mittermaier was killed on ground due to bombing.
For Anton Mittermaier NVM states: 1944-05-20, 4./Fl.ÜG 1 Süd, Bf 110G-4, 140206, Perlacher-Forst 5 km südlich München, Absturz infolge Motorstörung. Bruch 85 %. F Uffz Franze, Karl, tot Bf Uffz Mittermeier, Anton, tot Matti
