I, ordered on temporary duty to Lg.Kdo. Westfrankreich for training as Ia op 1. 1943 Kdr. KGr.z.b.V. 5. c.09.12.43 Maj., appt Kdr. II./TG 1 (to 26.09.44). 08.44 Maj., appt Kdr. Transportfliegergruppe 30 (to c. 15.04.45 †). 30.01.45 promo to Obstlt.
He is believed to have been at Laupheim with 1. und 2./TGr. 30 on 15 April 1945, but there seems to be no information concerning his death. U.S. 9th AAF mediums and F-Bs were crawling all over those airfields east of Stuttgart on 15 April so perhaps he was killed on the ground by strafing P-47s. HLdeZ/DGS
