Re: Bf 110 G NJG 1 G9+JA Double or Triple Chevron - Whose a/c was it?
It is +JA. The aircraft is disassembled and mounted onto a rail car for transportation. So, I guess it made an emergency landing or was so damaged that it could not be repaired in the field anymore.
Does anybody have a copy of Jabs flight log? If it survived, it may help to find out if +JA was another machine of Jabs. |

Re: Bf 110 G NJG 1 G9+JA Double or Triple Chevron - Whose a/c was it?
Hello Roger,
Perhaps you might be able to ask the seller where the picture of the Bf110 was taken. The reason for my question is, that perhaps a match can be made with one of the many Bf110 described in the Techn.Intelligence reports. As G9+AA was flown to Sweden, G9+JA must have been Jabs 'predecessor' aircraft before it was damaged (yet repairable). It is known that the amount of available nightfighters exceeded sometimes the number of crews who could use them if there hadn't been that increasing lack of fuel... Hoping to hear more about this, all the best, Marcel

Hello Marcel,
Thank you for your thoughts. Fortunately, the location was indicated in the caption: Werl, Germany, April 1945. Does that ring any bells with regards to NJG airfields? All the best, Roger |

PS: With the same group, there is apparently also a photo of a Bf 110 with the code +QS (most likely G9+QS).

Hello Roger,
Werl does certainly ring bells: there are several recorded Bf110 accidents/losses at/near Werl in 1945, most of these from IV./NJG 1 and II./NJG 1. I will check the several options. Bf110 G9+QS was found at Krefeld marshalling yards. This bird, a Bf110G-4, had Wnr.730228. All the best, Marcel

Hello Marcel,
It’s been a long time since, but can you tell me what your source is for the info about 730228 at Krefeld? All the best Roger |

Mike,
thanks for sharing this photo. I have another photo of the same “+QS”. It’s great to know the location. Cheers, Roger |
