Lt. Voll? Help with German script needed!
Hi all,
We have been sent a portrait photo of a Luftwaffe pilot with his details written on the reverse. From what I can make out, and I of course could be wrong is the following: Leutnant Voll Fallen for Greater Germany on ? May 1940 near ? Belgium I have checked the VDK site and can find only two losses with the name Voll in 1940 and neither of these were Luftwaffe or Leutnants! Can anyone please help us further. Kind regards Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.com Last edited by Melvin Brownless; 22nd March 2012 at 02:02. |

Re: Lt. Voll? Help with German script needed!
Hi Melvin,
Looking through GQM list all I could find on a very poor copy was that on 10-5-40 a Hs126 of 3(H)/14 was missing from a recon. over Luxembourg with Ltn ?oll and one missing ( the first letter is smudged and rewritten but again smudged). In Peters book he has this as Ltn Koll and Uffz Bieber killed in combat east of Nommern, although the locations do not tie I wonder if this could be your man, no Voll in the index of Peters book, Regards Brian Bines NB on checking the admendment notes it has note dated 14-7-40 Ltn Koll as dead, and note dated 30-11-40 it notifies 1 Mann gefallen (Uffz.Bieber). |

Re: Lt. Voll? Help with German script needed!
I have:
1940-05-10, 3.(H)/14, Hs 126, 1,5 km östlich Nommern, Unbekannt. Bruch 100 %. Flugzeugführer Bieber, Heinz, + Beobachter Lt Koll, Paul, + Although Nommern is 35 km northeast from Habay-la-Neuve, this must be the same loss, because there is no Lt Voll killed on May 10. Matti |
