Thank you Chris.
There is a Beaugency, roughly 25 km SW of Orléans thus perhaps matching the claim of 29 Sqn. There is absolutely no other claim made which could match (US/RAF, day/night), unless the claimer was lost too but find any. The combat was observed by Germans at the base, some minutes after take-off. Any hint?
