Bf 109 G6 Federbein und Laufrad

Can somebody please tell me if G6 had different landing gear than G2 (that had Federbein 8-2787.11 and 8-2787.12 and Laufrad 8-2089 A-1)?

MfG!

Marko

Re: Bf 109 G6 Federbein und Laufrad

Main wheels in the G-2 where 650x150mm and the tail wheel was 290x110mm while in the G-6 where 660x160mm and 350x135mm. The main wheels changed also from a spoked cast wheel to a smooth machine wheel.

Hope it helps.

Re: Bf 109 G6 Federbein und Laufrad

Hello!

Please find attached (hopefully) scans of a related document. These are dated 1943 (see date under "Tabelle II").

Later on G-6 type could use also Federbein 8-2787-13 and - 14. This later type strut required also additional stiffeners on fire wall plus stronger tyres.

"F" struts -07 & -08 couldn't handle outside load, "G" struts -09 & -10 (and -11 & -12??) could take one load (one of these: bomb, drop tank, wing guns) and -13 & -14 strut equipped plane could take two loads, for example guns and drop tank etc. This is how I have understood the situation (thanks for help Pena!). Corrections welcomed.

Hope this helps some,
Kari

Hello!

Here are some scans. Am not sure if they are the same ones removed earlier, but should contain the same info.

Have a nice Summer,
Kari
