Rank of a Soviet pilot

I was checking some losses of the 321 BAP and one of the pilots lost had for rank "Voen. Tekhnik 2 ranga". Does anyone have an idea what this is?

Re: Rank of a Soviet pilot

So could he end up making it to pilot and flying a combat mission on a Pe-2 with that rank is what I'm wondering now.

Re: Rank of a Soviet pilot

Members or ground crew in VVS sometimes flew combat sorties as air gunners. But it could be also if this man was Technician and later was trained as pilot. I know some fighter pilots with technical ranks.
