Death of Hans-Joachim Marseille

I downloaded DEFE3/573 from the National Archives just to see what it contained (it's free, so why not?) and found these two messages which might interest someone who's interested in this pilot or the North African campaign.

A data plate believed taken from the wreckage of Bf 109 G-2 W.Nr. 14256, Hans Joachim Marseille’s final-flight aircraft.

Re: Death of Hans-Joachim Marseille

Is there any indication of Allied intelligence taking notice of Marseille before his death?
