Exclamation Re: Control klappe from Bf109G10 with text: LW-3

Hello ,

This could perhaps have been to close the wingtanks ? These days a similar system is used to close the wingtank opening on the SF260 Marchetti.

Looks like it could be from the engine cowling (based on your other pictures).

There are no "wingtanks" in a Bf-109.

Two points in the engine cowlings: oil tank and cold weather starting device - LW 3 - decrypted as colleague Snautzer.

Best Regards

Jarek

Hi!

Based on the amount of RLM76 it is most likely from the bottom of the wings.

There is no curve to it, so not from the cowling..

Dear Collegues ,

Thank you very much for answer about klappe.
Do you know something when JG3 finished paint on the aircraft emblem JG3 ?
How long they use emblem ? Could be used on the aircraft BF109G10 made in October -November 1944 in Erla ? (Aircraft was from Stab I)
We do not know if should be shown on the model of aircraft.

Jarecki71 - I know this plate - looks so similar like another which I saw long time ago - yes there is plase for this klappe LW-3

Do you know - this detail there is in Instruction Manual of Bf109 or catallogue of spare parts ? Can somebody attache photo of detail from catallogue ?

Could look like this one view:
