Re: Helmut Lent's JU-88c-6 colors and markings...
Jim P. is correct in that Lent flew the Bf 110 through April 1944 except for some sorties with the Do 215 in 1941. He did not fly the Ju 88G in combat until May 1944. (Cf. Peter Hinchliffe, "The Lent Papers")

Re: Helmut Lent's JU-88c-6 colors and markings...
Tom,
Don't have the "Lent Papers" yet, plan on getting soon. Did Lent achieve his last 15-20 victories, including his 100th, in Ju-88G's? Have Ernst Obermaier's "Die Ritterkreuztrager der Luftwaffe, 1939-45, Band I, Jagdflieger". Lists Ju-88G-6 "D5+AA" as aircraft in which he crashed (died shortly after) in October 1944. Best, Markr |

Re: Helmut Lent's JU-88c-6 colors and markings...
According to "The Lent Papers" all the claims from 23.05.44 on were scored on the Ju 88. In particular, Lent was flying a Ju 88 (G-6 or R-2) coded D5 + AA on 16.06.44 when he claimed 3 Lancasters. Aside from this there are no other particular Ju 88's mentioned in conjunction with any of the other claims. Lent died in the crash of Ju 88 (G-6 or R-2?) WNr. 751081 coded D5 + AA on 5.10.44.

Re: Helmut Lent's JU-88c-6 colors and markings...
I have a document that indicates Lent's Ju 88 W.Nr. 751081 was an R-2 subtype which would be correct for the 751xxx block.
