The source of this infi is "Osprey combat aircraft" B 17 FLYING FORTRESS UNITS - The 8 th AIR FORCE (part 2) - Martin Bowman P. 80 "16 april saw général Spaatz announce an end to the strategic mission o the 8th AIR FORCE, and only some tactical missions now remained. The following day, Dresden was bombed by almost 1 000 aircraft. Eight B 17s and 17 fighters were shot down, including six B.17 by Me 262 of Jg 7". (...) Good evening ... Fred
