Re: Photo of my Grandmother for Larry
Hi Char -
Your single photo does not tell us much, but at least you learned how to post a photo on this web site, which is more than I know. I was hoping you might have photo captions and letters with names, places and dates that would offer clues as to where she was and when. Below are a couple of links that discuss the so-called Blitz-Girls and these should prove of interest as well as help to you. I am assuming that she was a Luftnachrichtenhelferin (Air Force Signals Female Auxiliary) and not a German Army or Navy girl, because they had female signals auxiliaries also. http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=176333&hilit=Ln.+Helferin http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=176147&hilit=F%C3%BChrerinnen So go ahead and read these links. "Cammie", who initiated the second thread, is a single mom with a couple of kids and lived in the Reno, Nevada, area at the time of the discussion. Fortunately, she had numerous letters and photos of her g-grandmother that had the necessary names, places and dates. Larry |
