Komm was Bühligen. I believe that by then, 4/JG 2 was part of I Gruppe and if so, it was Matoni, if not and it was II Gruppe it was Schröder

This site http://www.ww2.dk/ will give you the information (look under "Air Units") and you may well find something about the men themselves under "Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries."

Re: Willy Lang 4./ J.G.2 Richthofen

The 4./J.G. 2 was a part of I./J.G. 2 at this time. Gruppenkommandeur was Major Walter Matoni and Hptm. Kurt Hoffmann (i.V.).

Fw. Willi Lang was killed in combat near Norken 6 km NW of Bad Marienberg, 14 km SW of Koblenz.
Born 1.4.1924 in Frontenhausen (Lower Bavaria). EM: 59 745 / 390. His grave is on the cemetery of Norken.

Of which type are the documents ?

Rgds,
Kaczmarek

Re: Willy Lang 4./ J.G.2 Richthofen

Hello everyone,

My question is directed to Chris Goss, but first, I want to thank him for all of his tireless input over the years.

Regarding his post#2 on Fw. Lang’s Fw190A-9, WNr.91020, this is a Werknummer with which I am totally unfamiliar. I wonder if this is actually the number recorded in your reference material, and if so, your source?

Thank you in advance,

Steve Sheflin

According to NVM WNr. is 910204, but there seems to be a typo and the correct is 210204.
