Re: ID Bf110 crew lost 25 October 1941
Well Maxim
How are we then to interpret that? Sorokin wasn't believed by his own authorities? If they are not official, why was the story promoted at least in the West that it still continues to make its rounds even here and now? Perhaps there was a good reason for not believing them, since no one can find three losses, and as it turns out not even one.... B Rgds Stig |

Re: ID Bf110 crew lost 25 October 1941
Hi guys
Well, can we confirm that Sorokin crash-landed on 25 October as a result of air action - otherwise why did he trek for several days, necessitating the amputation of his frost-bitten feet? Cheers Brian |

It seems that the whole story has no document evidences. Sorokin indeed crash-landed on 25 October 1941 but the exact cause of his loss is unclear. This source states that his MiG-3 suffered an engine malfunction: http://www.allaces.ru/p/people.php?id=7193 |
