Re: Some photos 1-21
Thanks Ed,
Some personal comments ... http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Westfron.../380823543565? 5./ZG 1, Praznicze, September 1939. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224194232? Erg.JG 27 it seems … Emblem isn’t clear. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224191169? I’m not sure: Ehrler Stab JG 5 or Hrabak Stab JG 52, both G-6, both 1944. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224189631? Bf 109 E-1, 5./JG 27, Flg Krenzke, Erich., shot down by a D520, Villers-Cotterets, 9 June 1940. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224186811? Beautiful picture; amazing “E” design! Why I don’t believe in LG 2 and/or Sch.G 1 stuff but an AGr. ??? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224185689? Ostermann’s, published in Prien. Regards, Franck. |

Re: Some photos 1-21
Hello,
Regarding http://www.ebay.de/itm/Orig-Foto-WKI.../171224189631? which Franck has identified as "Bf 109 E-1, 5./JG 27, Flg Krenzke, Erich., shot down by a D520, Villers-Cotterets, 9 June 1940," I've got three locations for this in my photo notes: Amiens, Compiégne and Villers-Cotteręts. Amiens is a long distance NW of either of the other two, which are about 25kms apart. The Compiégne and Villers-Cotteręts could easily refer to the same incident. Its precise location is going to be hard to pinpoint due to the open farm country with no landmarks or dwellings visible in the background. Has anyone nailed this down specifically as to where this one came down, and what happened to the pilot, who was reported MIA and returned later? Who knows this incident? Re: Some photos 1-21
You're right Larry,
It is possible that one refers to air combat area and the other one to "landing" site. I don't remember where I got the "Villers-Cotteręts" ... Maybe through BertrandH comments? Regards, Franck. |

Re: Some photos 1-21
Hi Franck nice to see you are still posting these little gems for us all to enjoy!
Do you have any further information on the below? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-Westfron.../380823543565? 5./ZG 1, Praznicze, September 1939. Do we know the pilot or W.Nr of this incident, it looks like the code maybe red. Best regs, Steve. |

Re: Some photos 1-21
Hi Steve
![]() Nice to read you my friend. Didn't receive my wishes for new year?? No problemo. My comment was a short cut, indeed. Some comments: This photo is not a new one on eBay. First by a one seller (6 or 7 photos in one batch), second by this present one, for the third time I think ... Yes, two colours for code numbers. White, Red and nothing in the middle according to Prien. Red 6. No pilot, no WNr. Maybe Larry but I don't think so ... Or he is keeping secrecy! Keep in touch. Franck. PS: The first one to thank is Ed who is doing the (boring) job!!! |

Re: Some photos 1-21
Hi Robert,
Thanks for the orthographic correction but I will stay with Prien's one which is Prasznicze, mine was seller one. I Wonder if Rote 6 was involved in this take-off accident since they were from 4./ZG 1; Rote 6 being in 5./ZG 1. Prien is not that clear about this last one and I realise I did follow the seller's own caption. Hence, maybe Rote 6 wasn't accidented in Przasnysz( ) at all ...Again. Prien is talking about a Bf 109 E ... It seems to me that we can see a gun fairing on "top" of the wing, then an E-3. (?) Regards, Franck. |

Re: Some photos 1-21
Hello Franck, my apologies if i missed your New Year greeting but i haven't had access to my PC for some time. Im afraid ive been a victim of stupid internet geeks and my computer is now cursed! with a virus. However, a belated Happy New Year to you.
Thanks for the information on ZG1, is this then an a/c of 4/ZG1 and not red 6+- ? Robert, thanks for the reply on the four losses destroyed. Do you have an exact date during Sept 1939, and any other identities or pilots involved. Kindest regs, Steve. |

Re: Some photos 1-21
Hi Steve,
the answer is very simply: a Bf109E from 4./ZG1 swung off on takeoff and rammed 3 parked Bf109s of 5./ZG1. Regards Robert |
